Irfan Jawed, M.D
Dr. Irfan Jawed specializes in the use of novel molecular tools and targeted therapies to treat patients with cancers.
Dr. Jawed trained and practiced at the Georgetown university hospital, National Naval Medical System and National Institutes of Health where he served as a “Chief fellow” of the medical oncology fellowship program. In addition, Dr. Jawed is also trained at Memorial Sloan-Kettering cancer center and Weill Cornell University hospital where he completed fellowships training in Pain medicine and Palliative/Hospice care. He also served as a teaching faculty at the University of Washington School of medicine and presently serving as co-director of National Institute of Medical Research .
He has received various awards for his academic accomplishments, excellence in teaching and for his services to improve quality of life of cancer patients by using his multispecialty expertise and background.
His additional focus is to incorporates multimodality management including pain management and advance supportive therapies to the cancer patients during their treatment.
Dr. Jawed has been elected as a guest speaker for several national and international conferences including American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and his research work has been published in the peer review journals. In his spare time, Dr. Jawed enjoys outdoor activities, traveling, attending friends and family reunions, participating in local community outreach groups and supporting sustainable community activities.
